As your can see, Ginger really liked the snow. She grew up in Larchmont, N.Y.
Fortunately there was a fire place in our room where Ginger could warm up after sitting in the snow.
Below is a picture taken at night while it was snowing of the Fairmont Chateau du Frontenac Hotel in the background. It's Quebec's ritziest and most famous hotel. The picture was taken from just outside our doorway. Yes, the white spots are snow flakes.
Although we didn't stay at the Frontenac, we visited its bar for a glass of wine.
We had New Years Eve dinner at a quaint and popular restaurant about three blocks from our hotel named aux Anciens Canadiens. Immediately below is a picture from its brochure and below that is a picture of how it looked New Years Eve while it was snowing.
Here are Ginger and I sitting in the restaurant at a corner table with great views. I had escargot in garlic butter, sauteed sweetbreads, and roast turkey and dressing. (burp)
And now it's Saturday, January 3rd, 2004, and we're back in New Orleans in shirt sleeves. I'm sitting before my computer catching up on AncientWorlds. In the foreground you can see my dry martini with three anchovy stuffed olivies (eat your heart out, Zig). The next day we were at the Sugar Bowl watching LSU beat Oklahoma for the national collegiate championship (that's right Bryce NOT USC!).
