this is a great subject! I remember one story I read as whe a teenager, I think it was Selma Lagerlöf's story.. but I am not sure anymore. Anyway, it was a story about a submerged city. There is the sound of a bell far out at sea... and the city can only be reached once in a century or something... the citizens must sell one thing, not matter what for no matter what price, but the kid from the story has no money with him. Does this ring a bell?? *S*
