Since we are about to undertake a journey in to the ancient names of Mesopotamia , it probably apt to give you the reader a list of common abbreviations you will need to understand the derivation of the name and the culture it is derived from .The following is a list of abbreviations that will give you the key in understanding many of the posts that will follow by me on this thread .
