    I am particularly upset with the leaving out of Glorfindel, and the whole twisted concept of the relationship between Aragorn and Eowyn! Not to mention, the way Faramir has been libelled. The idea that Faramir would have tried to use the One Ring to bribe his father Denethor is too ridiculous for words!!! Equally libellous is the way Elrond's relationship with Arwen Undomiel has been treated. Arwen and Aragorn were formally betrothed, and her choice of a mortal life was already fixed before the War began. That either she or Aragorn would have betrayed each other is just a figment of someone's diseased imagination.

    However, I do like the movies: I just don't think they're true Tolkien. What I would love to see is a mini-series made for television and put on DVD that would follow the books exactly as Tolkien wrote them, the way Galsworthy's Forsyte Saga was done a few years ago...
