Hi Everyone - Since Augustus is the recent subject, I though this one might be a good example of Augustinian propogandist imagery! The "Gemma Augustea" or what depicts the apotheosis of Augustus to the godly realm is really a great piece. On its own its a marvel considering the material - but also - becoming a god!! Well- you know those Roman emperors!!! A ref="http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/users/morford/aug16.jpg"
