And thank YOU for joining our story, which is in a transitory phase now anyway so its a perfect time for a new character drop in. I hope everybody will make use of this OOC thread as well as keeping in touch by message board, email or whatever other means are available.
Most of the writers in Inver Colpa like to just go wherever our collective muse takes us but there are a few habits and patterns we've developed over the course of our continued RP that you probably need to know.
We tend to write in "real time" with the seasons of the year as much as possible. That is, we may take a break from our story to celebrate one of the old Celtic festivals - or weave it through the story as it happens.
Also we've grown accustomed to observing the ebb and flow of ancient Irish life by settling in after Samhain for a more clannish focus close to the rath, then bursting out at Beltane for the raiding season which might take us anywhere in pursuit of cattle, vengeance, treasures, or any other good old fashioned Irish adventures.
We try to work a lot of legend and lore into the RP and keep it historically true as our knowledge allows, but there is still a little room for a stray dragon to pop up now and then. No unicorns, please! *grin*
Historically we are set in the time of King Cormac, which was the most peaceful and plentiful period of Irish history. It might be helpful to acquaint yourself with this era if you aren't already familiar with it.
If I've left out anything important, I'm sure one of the other RPers here will fill it in for you.
Most important of all, have fun!
