According to Donnelly (from "Atlantis, the Antediluvian World") the inhabitants of Atlantis once carried on trade with Egypt, Africa, North nad South America, Scandinavia, and countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Atlanteans were sun-worshippers and spread their religion as far east as Egypt and as far west as Peru. Because Egypt was Atlantis's oldest colony, it's civilization resembled that of Atlantis.
James Bramwell ("Lost Atlantis") summerizes some arguements for the continent , one being the Cro-Magnon invasion of Europe 25,000 years ago. Cro-Magnon was a 6 foot tall specimen with a high forehead, prominent cheekbones, and a firm chin, whose skull capacity was above that of modern beings. Yet no one knows where this race originated.
In "Edgar Cayce on Atlantis" he mentions Atlantis frequently, particularly in connection with its final destruction and the migration of Atlantean refugees to Egypt, the Pyrenees, and South and Central America. Someofthese fleeing people, he said, carried with them records of their lost homeland.
