Just joined as a Visigoth.

"Intellectually", I selected the Visigoths for two reasons, first they were instrumental in fall of Rome and, second, because they were instrumental in stopping the spread of Islam into Europe.

"Sentimentally", I chose them because I found out that part of my family originated in the northern part of Spain that was never conquered by the 'moors', and thought it would be a little different.

Way back, I studied Beowulf, Njal's Saga and the Hildebrandenleid, and have always been interested in the whole Teutonic wanderings. So this was certainly a good place for me.

Just so everybody knows, I'll probably be quietly be lurking around for awhile, but I'll try to stay out of everybody's way till I figure my way around.
