As this is something most people want to learn very soon when getting started in a new language it seems a worthy topic to inaugurate this thread:
So.........
Icelandic: ég elska þig
Danish: jeg elsker dig
Norwegian bokmål: jeg elsker deg
Norwegian nynorsk: eg elskar deg
Swedish: jag älskar dig
Finnish: minä rakastan sinua
German: ich liebe dich
Bavarian: i mog di
These are for your foreign darlings of today.. but what do you say? You have fallen in love with that pretty Germanic lass you met at the Red Boar? Ok, we have something for you too:
Old English: ic lufie þe
Old Norse: I am not wholly sure about that one, but if you say
ek elska þig you could not be entirely wrong
And then for the specialists....
....drumroll...
Proto-Germanic!!!!
eka thez ann
Thiu... could you verify that this is correct?
