    I haven't as yet had the time to read this fully but will do so. This isn't for the squeamish, Justina. I am very glad I wasn't born in ancient Rome or the extended empire...females from all classes seem to have had a lousy time of it! And children...

    "If you do give birth, if it is male, let it live, if it is female, cast it out"

    What a callous comment made by a man to his pregnant wife!

    This was in the context of child exposure - it seems that while the practice was not confined only to females, they seemed to have felt the brunt of it...as you would expect.

    Definitely a topic to fuel conversation and debate!
