    Did the coins had a artistic sense? Or only a more practical value? ...

    Personally, I agree with Tanaquil - I would support the inclusion of coins. 'Art' has always been a method by which people communicate ideas to others - that it often has a functional purpose doesn't detract from its aesthetic qualities. You could argue that much art is propagandist or 'moralistic' in nature, I think. Isn't the 'purist art' versus 'craft' dilemma just a relatively modern preoccupation?

    That coins are functional doesn't mean that they are necessarily without 'beauty'...which is a Platonic concept anyway to the best of my understanding and only represents one way of approaching the object. Think of Andy Warhol's soupcans *g* I think I'm sliding off the topic....sorry about that!

    Besides, it would give me a wonderful opportunity to display my yet-to-be-purchased Roman coins from the coin auction late November ;)
