Hello to everyone and thank you Thiu and Ahtaswintha for creating this wonderful group. I am very interested in both Gaulish and Proto-Germanic languages and the separation of the two cultures. This has been a reoccuring theme with me, and I would definately like to explore the issue deeper.
As for the personal bio, as you can tell from my name, my interest was solely intent on Arthurian mythology and British Celtic history when I first joined Ancient Sites, unknowingly chosing the cognomen Aedui. As I began diving into the realms of Celtic culture though, I came to find information about the Aedui as well as information concerning the other tribes of Gaul.
This group looks like I shall be able to accomplish much of it here, as it hits upon most of my interests.

Hello to you
Now, my understanding (as little as it is) is that Subutā tei meant "Blessed be" or some other greeting to that effect. Is not "Subuta" much like "Aloha" in the modern pacific islanders, where it is both a greeting and a goodbye?
