Most people will probably know me and why I am here. Apart from my interest in the Goths of the Fourth to Sixth Centuries, this period of Germania's history is my main period of interest. This has become even more the case during the last three years, while I have been researching and (occasionally!) writing my screenplay about the defeat of Varus in 9 AD.

Special thanks to my old friend Ahtaswintha (er, I mean "old" as in we have known each other a long time, not that you're actually old), whose knowledge of this period will be a great benefit to us all. And a special welcome to Nantonos, who expressed a strong interest in this group even before it existed and whose "cross-over" interest in the Gauls and Germanics of the Rhine is an intriquing perspective on this period and the interaction of its cultures.

Spread the word about this group, as I think it has the potential to become one of the best historical groups at AW.
    Cheers,
    Thiu
