These books create so much interest in so many different people.
I have always loved children's literature. Picture storys are what truely inthrall me. They are visual more than verbal. It might be one of the elements that makes Rowling so popular.
In my lifetime I am aware of no other writer to capture the fancy of the public to this degree.
Some of my favorites do really get lampooned by the critics.
Frank Braum [the creator of OZ], Raggedy Ann & Andy, Brare Rabbit. These are all still great fun!
