How delightful it was that she did not have to make that long journey back to Germania on her own… her Celtic holiday had been fun but she had missed her darling Cuthbert. And then he had appeared there out of the blue. Nothing could have made her happier. Traveling together offered them the wonderful opportunity to talk undisturbed and get to know each other much better. And so they did.. they talked about their past, their dreams, their hopes, there was nothing they could not talk about.
It was well after midnight when they arrived at the Boar and everything was quiet, but Yngvildr knew where a spare key for the back door was hidden which meant they could get inside without having to wake anybody. They tiptoed to the little room where she had kept her few belongings ever since having tended Widimir's injuries… Widimir who had raised hopes in her only to leave her all of a sudden and without a word of explanation… as had others before him… but her wounds had long healed. No good dwelling too much on things past…neither on hers nor his. Looking at the man she loved filled her heart with joy. She had a future to look forward to now.
They were both tired after the exhausting trip and went to bed straight away but it still took a little while until they finally fell asleep….
