Reunited again, Cuthbert and Yngvildr spent a glorious afternoon outside, absorbed by each others company. Only when the sun was about to set they noticed that they were really hungry. So they returned to the Tavern, found a place a little away from the crowd and comfortably shared a meal together. Once finished, they just stayed where they were, snuggling close and whispering sweet words of love to each other.
It was then when Yngvildr was startled by a piercing sensation in her back. She turned her head and her eyes briefly met those of a woman she had never seen before. A beauty she was, her dark looks as opposite to her own light ones as they could possibly be. But the attention of that lady did not focus on her long.. instead she gazed at Cuthbert with an expression of pure shock and disbelief. Irritated, Yngvildr turned again and looked at her beloved only to see that he was staring back at the stranger with an equal expression on his face that remained there even when the lady turned around and left the tavern without saying a single word.
The fair Viking felt a pang in her stomach but managed to keep her composure and remained calm and serene. The strong vibrations that accompanied the magical moments they had shared at the Sacred Groved still were with her and helped her doing so. And she was no fool and it was apparent to her that such a charismatic man must have a past. A past of which she knew virtually nothing about. Certainly that lady must have something do to with it. Gently she placed her hand on Cuthbert's arm and softly said "If you feel you ought to tell me something, please do not hesitate to confide in me…"
