Parmenion opened the letter given to him by the messenger. It is from the Amicus Princeps. It reads:
Congratulations to the Legio VII Gemina Pia Felix, it now has a new Legatus (General), Parmenion Solon who came from being the tribune. His chain-of-command is: Miles > Centuriones > Tribunes > Legatus of Legio VII Gemina (Parmenion Solon) > Vicarius Hispaniae (Vacant) > Tetrarch of the West (Eduardo Papirius) in Ravenna > Amicus Princepis QuintusCinna Cocceius > Emperor Maximinus the Thrax.
The legatus shall be eligible to be promoted in 30 days to 1 of 4 choices: 1) Legatus Augusti of Tarraconensis, 2) Legatus Augusti of Britannia Inferior, 3) Legatus Augusti of Syria Phoenice, or 4) Curator of Attica. To accept any one of these four, please contact the following in their chain-of-command, 1) Eduardo Papirius, 2) Decius Aemilius, 3) Tyleerius Caelius, 4) Cornelia Tertia.
By the order of:
Q.Cinna Cocceius
Amicus Principis
It is with mixed feelings that Parmenion reads this good news. He still can not believe the fact that the Consul Gaius Traianus passed away. The threat from the insurgents would appear to have dissappeared and Parmenion feels that his services might be required elsewhere. To Britain or to Greece? The matter needs contemplation.
