I have heard that the (in)famous man with the iron mask could also be someone who was keeping the secret of the Templar and of the Prieuré de Sion. The all monarchy could be destabilized with those knowledge in which the King of France was not the one that should have been "nominated" for Monarchy.

The Prieuré de Sion and Templar were probably the same nomination and throughout the Ages, they ruled what is now called Europe. They had proofs that, it seems, the actual Monarchy wasnt the one to have the thron, but it should have been someone from the Merovingien family, which was not related to the Capet and other sovereign family....
