More and more, Latin seems to get used in the groups of Ancient Worlds. Many times, your praeceptrix gets grams or messages with requests to translate technical terms or sayings into Latin. It's time to create a thread for this phaenomenon here in the Schola, so that others can participate in the translation game as well. There's also room for plenty of discussion about what would make the best translation. Reason enough to get the teaching of Latin going! This thread is for the translation of English sayings into Latin ...

Tanaquil- I imagine you've dealt with many translation requests. Having a special place where we can ask "how would I write that?" is a great idea.

Will this be for English to Latin translations only, or include other languages as well, like German to Latin?

And- do we just ask straight out?

Post example:

How do I write, "It was a dark and stormy night," in Latin?
