Harald had not deined to go to the sacrifice; it angered him as his kin were among those killed. Long ago, he had made his own arrangement with the Gods. From the background he had watched them gather. From the distance he had seen the newcomers, the other foreigners, the couples beginning to form under the spell of the moment, some closing the distance of time. He sneered at them. Quietly he had re-entered the Red Boar. Arrogantly he had looked in rooms, in cloaks, in bags, in chests...
'Easy targets' he had thought to himself as he walked out of the kitchen back outside. He had doubled back towards the group as he saw the ceremony end and had blended in with the others. Harald's pockets had more gold in them than when he had arrived.
