I would give a clue but if no one has the story then it is hopeless.

The old bird seeks the answer for " is this the coldest Beltane ever?"

An even older trout gives the answer. "No becouse on a Beltane long ago I jumped & hit a rock. It was so cold that my eye stuck to it so that I have had but one eye from that day to this."
