I know many of you often feel, as I often do: "Why bother to post on anything, if the darn thread is dead and there's no one out there who comes to see my stuff or who's interested in what I am?" But our theads and groups are actually not as dead as they might seem; it's just that few of us can join and post in more than one of AW's many groups at a time.

So I'll share this nice message I just found in my mail from Senex, who read and enjoyed right away my post on Galileo's house and Dava Sobel's wonderful book, "Galileo's Daughter.' Here's what he wrote:

"Greetings, Aphrodisia! Posted at 14:35 EST August 6, 2009
I want to thank you for posting the various links to photos and other materials related to Galileo and his daughters. As it happens, I just read Galileo's Daughter about a week ago. I was browsing the shelves of a discount bookstore when I spied the title. I started reading and spent the entire day curled up in an armchair until I had finished the entire thing!
