First of all, a huge “Thank you!” to all contributors to the ACTA, I know a little from own and much more from second-hand experiences what a tremendous amount of work it is to regularly offer something interesting, entertaining and original for each of the Ancient Worlds, time and again. Kudos!
It’s great to see that the YFE has been featured in this ACTA edition, also that Titus Flavius Sabinus has agreed to give an interview. Both he and Mauricius Fabius have invested an incredible amount of research, passion and time into this project that is, as far as I know, unique at AW. I’m very honoured – though also often intimidated to the point of stage-fright – to be part of such a project. I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank the scholarly-minded members of the group for all the support they are providing!
Of course I’m very flattered that your favourite characters are the Fufii cousins, the frivolous “historical lightweights” of the group. Yet you’re wrong when you are crediting their creation to me alone. In fact, Marcus and Manius have been conceived and fleshed out by both of their authors, their background stories and adventures are the result of countless cups of tea while gramming our fingers off as we happily plot along and try to add the cousins’ unique and sometimes weird perspectives to recorded history. Marcus Fufius Regillus is an independent RL person, a dear and much loved friend, whose wonderful skills at writing and coming up with hilarious ideas for plots I admire very much and have often profited from. Now I better stop before he seriously contemplates gagging me…
One of my favourite characters at the YFE is Iulia Berenice, Princess of Judaea who has graciously agreed to share her private correspondence with the general public. Those love letters…! *swoon*
