It's a fine morning to pick berries. The mists are still hanging on the sides of the mountain and there's a nip of autumn in the air. I arrive early, before anyone else is here. I have the whole berry patch to myself! The berries look especially delicious this morning, sparkling with dewdrops and perfectly ripe. I fill one basket quickly, then I hear a twig snap behind me. Someone sighs.
"Don't worry, there's plenty left!" I say without turning around.
The reply is a low grumble.
"My, you sound hoarse this morning, Akatena! Make some blackberry tea later, it will soothe your throat. Or is that you, Topi?"
The only answer is a gruff huff. Finally I stop my berrypicking and turn and come face to face with - Yo-Na!
