Several ancient and modern societies' spiritual leaders were also known as warriors. I believe that being a warrior meant one
carried on a tradition of human bravery and fearlessnes and not necessaryly aggression. North and South American native societies had this tradition of warriorship. The Japanese samurai represented a warrior tradition of wisdom and enlightenment. Today Buddhist monks still follow that tradition. Even in Christian societies we have the Templars
and the Hospitalars as well as the legendary King Arthur. In the Jewish tradition there is King David and others in the bible who were examples of this spiritual warriorship. I wonder what the thought is on how the Druids mixed their religion with their warriorship, if indeed they were also warriors in that same sense?
