Salve Titus Longinus welcome to you good Roman!
Salve Titus Longinus welcome to you good Roman!
I am glad you have decided to stop here on your travels. What brings you to Rhodes dear Roman? Is it business,
trade or just an urge to travel? Here let me pour you a drink. We have good stuff here too.
You know we are famous for our wines and strong drinks and we carry a huge variety of Greek wines, each region
being famous for their own variety of grapes. The Wines of Santorini are unique in Greece as the grapes grown
on the volcanic soil, which gives the wine an interesting mineral aftertaste.
Then you might like to try some Ouzo. It is our most famous alcoholic drink. Surely everyone has heard of the Greek ouzo.
It is strong but I bet for you my dear Roman tis not strong enough. : )It is served with mezedes. The best Greek ouzo is made
in Lesvo. We also have Tsapouro which has a strong taste of anis. Retsina is a famous Greek white wine with a particular resin taste
which is obtained during production.
It is strong like ouzo. Then there is Mavrodafni it is a sweet wine
made in Patras. It is dark and is good for the digestion after one of our heavier meals. And of course although
not as famous as our wine or ouzo, the greek beer is very good.
Here let me pour you another round of the Bard's Ballad, yes you are thirsty.
I am so glad you have stopped by as it is quiet here at the moment. Would you like some food traveler? I shall whip you up a hardy dish in our kitchen?
What shall it be Kotossoupa (chicken soup), Psarossoupa(fish soup), Fassolada (white beans soup), Fakies (lentil soup), Mayiritsa (lamb soup) or would
you prefer some delightful lamb chops or roast suckling pig?
Please do tell me of your travels between Rome and Hellas I should love to hear of them if you have the time you have my ear.
