CITIZENS!
In compliance with the Lex Jotia Agraria, Reate in the Sabine country has been established as an Urbs of the Roman World. The city has been consecrated under the supervision of the flamen qurinalis. Priests examined the livers of both a rabbit and a pheasant caught within the territory of Reate and confirmed the favor of the gods for settlement.
The duumviri in charge have had the boundaries of the municipium of Reate turned by the plow, and the city’s territory is now marked out by boundary stones. Roman citizens may purchase property by registering with the scribes in the land office. By special decree, non-citizens may also purchase land in Reate.
