Hi, I hope everyone is having a good summer, keeping the brambles at bay etc.
I thought the local(honey) bees had come back in June, but in July as in May I've hardly seen a one, not on the lavender nor the sedums nor the geraniums nor the foxgloves. It looks like the various mites and viruses are beating them and it's worrying. I've a few hard working bumble bees but they can't be expected to take up all the slack. I asked some people at the Three Counties Show about joining one of the local bee-keepers groups but I haven't heard anything in a month or more. Maybe they'll get back to me in the winter when they have more time on their hands. They say parts of North America have been having probles they last few years or so. How you finding things?
