This ancient Cruithne hillfort site rises high above the southeastern wetland plains of Scotland and is less than a day's ride southwest from Edinburgh.

O cow-borne land of emerald gleam
Whose five-fourths made interrupted seam;
The Kindred have traversed the whale-road
And foot-stepped on far-strewn stones.l
O Bless the footsteps of thy Children
