I love Phrags too. They seem to have a personality. Unfortunately they are not too happy in my climate. So I only Keep ust a few. I have to keep them in the coolest part of the house. It is even too warm for them in my GH with the swamp cooler. They like to live in spagnum moss that is kept quite damp at all times. There use to be only one color type availble and that was the red/oranges now with hybirdizing they have a range of gorgeous colors. I also have few paphiopediliums which are similiar to phrags but prefer a terrestrial orchid mixed with a rich peat and a bit less dampness. They like the cool air conditionong in the house too but don't need to be right under a cooling vent like my phrags.

Here is a pic of my black orchid a paphiopedilium "Satchel Paige."
