Many of us have been reading Steven Saylor's Gordianus novels for what seems like aeons, although as time passes, I realize that Saylor's vision of Caesar's and mine differ more and more. To the point where, now, the differentiation is pretty total ;) He views Caesar as the John Dillinger of the Republic, and I can't say I do.

However, I suspect for Auld Time's Sake, I'll read the next entry in the series!
