Actually I'm talking about Kansas City. If you haven't been following the progress of the Longest Walk, tomorrow night Kansas City will host a film event on behalf of the Walkers.
A benefit concert will be happening in Austin TX on April 27.
Near Watonga OK on May 3, there will be a Gourd Dance to raise funds and energy for the Longest Walkers.
They move on to the Chicago area the following date for another benefit concert.
On May 9, the Illinois Human Right Forum will welcome the Walkers.
May 10 is a Band of Warriors event in Gallup, New Mexico.
If you are near any of these places, please make an effort to connect with the Longest Walk and support it however you can. Details on these events can be found at the Longest Walk Website. These are the public events and there is much more going on all the time along the way. A daily webcast including comments and blogs from the Walkers can also be accessed at the website.
I'm looking forward to June 21, coincidentally also Summer Solstice, when the Walk arrives in my area!
