DESCRIPTION: A broadshouldered, powerfully built man Lucius Licinius Furius is a striking and imposing figure. White teeth flash in a sun darkened face when he smiles while elegant, tapering eyebrows furrow and fiery eyes blaze when he angers. Lucius Licinius is a volitile man... quick to anger but quick to forgive and smile also. Loyal to his friends but a bitter enemy Lucius Licinius has shown himself to be a determined man. Lucius Licinius is an active man, one who can be found wandering the streets of Rome with his few friends or with his closest clients during the day, or reeling from tavern to tavern in the evenings. Charismatic and with a melodius speaking voice he has decided to restore his family name and to bring back the glory that once accompanied the sound of the Licinii Furae. The youngest and wildest son of the ancient Licinii Furae he is a hard man. While his eldest brother Publius had recieved tuition from some of the better Greek pedagogues the city had to offer Lucius had run wild. While Publius and his other brother Gaius had studied rhetoric, history and science Lucius had learned how to brawl.
BIOGRAPHY: The youngest son of Quintus Licinius Furius, he has entered the senate due to his elder brothers deaths. His entire youth was spent in the roughest areas of Rome in the company of boys that his father, arisatocrat to the bone, would not even allow into the ancient family home on the Palatine. Lucius ran wild with these boys steadily moving from boyhood into adolescence always casuing trouble. His family had put all their efforts into the eldest brother Publius. It was Publius that was going to restore the family to its greatness. It was Publius that was perfect. When his elder brother Publius died Lucius was 15. The family then put all their effort into poor, sick Gaius.
Left largely to look after himself he learned to rely on himself and on those same boys that he had grown up with. At the age of 23 his father, desperate, managed to have Lucius sent to serve under the Legatus Gaius Servilius Galba in Illyria during the pannonic revolt. There Lucius' wildness was curbed by the discipline of the legions, and there he found something that he both enjoyed but which in turn seemed to suit him.
Poor sickly Gaius died, and soon after Gaius' death his father passed away (many say in grief) leaving Lucius Licinius the only heir to the family name and enough lands and money to enter the senate.
NPC ASSOCIATES:- Childhood friends

MARITAL STATUS:Widowed. His wife was of a poor branch of the Aemilli and died when both she and Lucius were young. It was an arranged match, one that was supposed to bring the two decadent branches of these illustrius families even closer together (both Gaius and Publius had taken wives from this family).
SHORT STORY:-
""The mourners wailed and sobbed as the funeral procession wound its way through the badly lit and grimy streets of one of the poorer areas of the great urbe, but Lucius Licinius din't notice it. He didn't notice the stifling heat, the wails of the mourners or the stench of the offal which had been casually tossed on one side of the uneven pavement.
He sighed and wiped the sweat from his brow, pausing slightly to stare at it before he hurridly returned it to its proper position. With powerfull hands and sun darkened skin he did not look the part, nor did he truly feel it. Why if he took off his cerimonial toga he could be easily mistaken for the soldier he once was. Broadshouldered, with a a hard, rugged build, topped by a hard face covered with a weeksworth of beard growth. He shrugged to himself and hoped the mourners would stop their ceaseless wailing. He'd hired the best professional mourneres he could find, after all it was important to keep to true Roman tradition.
Who'd have thought it. He was pater familias now. Albeit from a less illustrous branch of the rich Licinii gens. His dark eyes blazed as a wolfish grin flashed white teeth in stark contrast to his dark beard growth. Indeed... who'd have thought such a thing was possible after all he was the youngest of the three brothers.
When Publius got sick at the age of 29 all the family was devastated. Lucius was only 15 at the time and was the only one who didn't cry at the funeral. The family then put all their effort into poor Gaius and barely even bothered acknowledging the existance of Lucius. Lucius cared not, the only pleasure his family gave him was when they arranged for him to do his military service in Illyricum. There he showed his worth.
Lucius Licinius sighed. The funeral procession was nearly over and he had much to do.""
