...Modern Ihnasiya Umm el-Kimam which in Arabic is 'mother of the shards'. In the 9th and 10th dynasties it was the capital of Egypt, the 20th Sepat of Upper Egypt, but lost in importance when the Theban kings came to power. The ancient name Hwt-nen-nesw means 'house of the royal child' - maybe that alludes to there once being a palace and royals living there at times, as well as administrative buildings.
