I'm working my way through T.J.Cornell's "The Beginnings of Rome" - a substantial (at about 500 pages), comprehensive and very scholarly book...a thorough historical survey of Rome's regal period and early republic. I'll add more into here, in the book section.
I'm taking my time at the "very beginnings" stage of the book because of the author's knowledge and familiarity with the most recent archaeological discoveries being made in Latium and Etruria and, needless to say, a lot demands new understanding.
About Medullia, it might interest you (as a Furius) - or perhaps you already know it - that the Furii also seem to have come from Medullia. There were several early Republic consuls named Furius Medullinus Fusus in the 5th century BC. Found while looking for Medullia...
Thanks for the information about Servius Tullius! This and the bit of research on locating Medullia has been a learning experience :)
