And no I don't mean that Internet meme that has been around for years. Here's a tip, for those of you in the US anyway. Try putting the pills in Easy Cheese. This is horrible, nasty pseudo-cheese in a spray can, but it sticks to pills and the cats seem to like it. Yes, it can be embarrassing buying it (and if someone comments, don't disparage the stuff, because some people seem to really like it too; I speak from experience), but it works.

If you haven't got a source for that, in Europe say, we also have good success with Teewurst (sometimes called Tea Wurst in English). This is a really finely chopped meat paste, a bit like devilled ham in consistency but not as salty (an important consideration for cats).

Anything is better than prying open a cat's jaws, flinging a pill as far down the throat as you can, and then clamping the struggling feline's mouth shut and massaging its throat.
