For anyone who wishes to pursue information about the baths in Roman times, I can personally recommend Dr. Fagan's book Bathing in Public in the Roman World. My copy from Amazon arrived last week, and it is a valuable resource. I would like to add a resource that I only recently discovered is the work of Dr. Fagan as well. I have had the link on my baths page for a long while, but the connection to Dr. Fagan did not register until I revisited it in connection with my project on the Baths of Timothy in the Subura. The resource is a site on Ancient Baths that includes a museum of images, a glossary of terms related to the baths, and a bibliography for additional research.
