I found a recipe for homemade lotions which all looked great until I got to the bit where it listed borax as an ingredient. Isn't this what's put into laundry powders? Here is the ingredient listing -

Combine this standard base with your choice of essential oils or floral waters. *goes on to list energising, relaxing, and luxury oils etc*:

    3/4 cup distilled water
    1/2 tsp borax
3/4 cup coconut, sweet almond or olive oil
    3 tbs beeswax

I'd be interested in hearing everyone else's opinion of a base that includes borax. Would you put this on your skin?
