Festival creators are great and we should always have the festivals. They just shouldn't be all we focus on.
Keeping things as they are, with more and more festivals being celebrated every day, is fine if that's what the majority of the members want.
However, we are dealing with two finites here. There is a finite amount of time. With the festivals already planned for this year, there is no way they can be scheduled to avoid overlapping. This also means the talent pool sometimes gets a bit stretched and attendance may be down in or more of the festivals. It also means that other features of the site get neglected because members also only have a finite amount of time to play.
There is a finite amount of space on the com panel. Which could bring us to the situation where its first come first serve as to who will bet space on it. Even with a text only message, if we have 5 festivals planned, with most of them overlapping, there is no way we could put them all up there. It would be a tough day to be a demi when we have to make those choices.
But in the end, it will boil down to what the membership wants. As long as it works for the site as a whole, of course.
