The crone of winter, Cailleach is out searching for more firewood this weekend (Feb 1-3), to extend winter six more weeks and keep Brigid, the goddess of spring imprisioned in her mountain. Our brave and valient sidhe children, Clarissant and Caoimhe have been stealing up all the firewood, so Cailleach cannot get it. They plan on offering up these bits of driftwood and logs to you the valient citizens of AncientWorlds to use and keep from Cailleach. (Get ready to read some very funny and cute role-playing posts here from our sidhe.) What will you do with these bits of driftwood, you ask? Why what every fun, loving citizen revels in --- plaque making, of course. but this time everyone is included no matter how novice or advanced you are at graphics. Because Brigid, patron of craftfolks, wants your offerings to the sacred fire in the form of an UGLEE PLAK!
Yes, that is right, dear members of all the tribes of Celtia, and our world visitors-- give us your ugly plaques for posting beginning at Imbolc. Please hold off on posting till our sidhe have had a chance to post parts of their play.
In the mood for something a little more reverant? You are welcomed to post devotionals to our goddess of Spring here- whether in verse or in graphics at our Blessings of Brigid thread.
And last but not least Airmid's Well, one of our most active groups in Celtia, is sponsoring a broom making workshop at thier new Herb farm here! This will be in conjunction with the ALL day Tara Marketplace Fair.
So break out your graphics programs, and us slow workers, like me, will have a little lead time to work on these pics if we want this week. The rest of the Imbolc preview will be available here at the festival guide and in the Feb 1st edition of ACTA! We look forward to helping you welcome the coming of Spring with us next weekend!
