Recent research points towards that Nefertiti was left for a younger woman named Kija during the five last years of Akhenatons reign. After his death Nefertiti retook power and ruled for a while under the name Semekhkara. It is from this time battlescenes shows Nefertiti with a sword in her hand with which she strikes her enemies down.

There actually exist an official photograph of the Nefertiti bust in Berlin showing her (the bustīs) missing eye. Scientists believe that this bust was a model for larger public works during her time.

The name Nefertiti (Nefret) means the beautiful one. She was married to and possibly also cousin to pharao Akhenaton.

    A remarkable woman indeed.
