Blueprints
This house belonged to my grandfather, also Gaius Julius Caesar. The Caesars, however elevated our ancestry (and no Roman ranks higher), had long been out of power in the decades before I was born - although usually in the Senate.

In my earlier years, I retained the house as much to show my solidarity with my populares clients as for its comfort.

Now, when my formal residence, as Pontifex Maximus, is the Domus Publica in the Forum, I take pleasure in retaining this "bolt hole" for my private affairs.

Please enter and find a seat. As you can see, the house was built to last. I will leave it to my heir, Octavius. It never hurts for a politician to have at least one address among the ordinary people.

Posca
Give your name to Posca, my amanuensis. He will know when I can be disturbed, and will ensure your comfort while you wait. You might be interested in my art collection to pass the time. He will be glad to show you some of the Greek vases I have been collecting since my younger days, which help to decorate the atrium. Or if you wish, you may visit the Library the the tablinum or the art collection in the Portico Gardens.
