Jasmine's Place

Hello. My name is Jasmine. Come on in. Let me show you around and what I get up to during the day. After breakfast, I'll go and lie in my day bed near the front window so I can watch over the estate, see who's coming and going in the street and most importantly, watch for any birds that happen to land in my front yard. If I was out there, I'd show them a thing or two! Once all the birds go back to their nests, I come out to play. Shredding newspapers is a favorite hobby of mine. My owner Asenath always scolds me but I think she secretly likes me playing. At least I don't have to clean up the mess! After a while I get sick of playing and I'll go and have a cuddle with her. Here I am sitting on top of her looking down. The camera's a little close which I'm not mad about but you can't help that when you are sitting on her chest. Rather comfy it is too. Every once in a while I'll want a cuddle but it's not often. Can't ruin my reputation that I have for being an independant miss. That's also my nickname. "Little Missy". Kinda stupid but we did bond when I was little. My human picked me out of a warehouse coz my cat mum abandoned me. Probably coz I took after my dad and was smaller than my brothers and sisters. All my brothers and sisters plus mum were grey tabbies. I guess I got my colouring from my dad. Can't say I remember him.... It's afternoon right now and I've pretty much had enough of playing and cuddling. I'm just so tired after doing pretty much nothing all day!! I should tell you that this was my old bed. I got a brand new one for my birthday and I only sleep in this one during the day. The other is a lot bigger so I can stretch out properly like a real cat should. It has both a winter (with polar fleece) and a summer (fine cotton) side so I won't get cold or overheat. I'm lucky to have two beds. Most cats don't even have one! The other pet of the house is Katie, a Bassett Hound. I suppose she's ok as far as dogs go. Recently she lost her best friend and "sister" Gabbi. Even the humans of the house are sad. As for me? Well, it is certainly a little quieter around here now. I suppose I'd better help Katie as I know how it feels to lose a mate. Timmy was my best mate. I still miss him. Anyway, it's time for my dinner. I might come back later and then again, I might not. As I said before, I'm an independant cat. I'll do what I want, when I want. You know the saying "Dogs have masters, Cats have staff?" Well, that saying is true. I must go and get my human to get me my dinner. See ya...
