Yggdrasil's Realm of...
Jotunheim
Historical Urbs

One of the nine worlds of the World tree Yggdrasil, Jotunheim is foremost the home of the frost giants but also home to the rock giants. It is kept separate from Asgard by the river Iving, which does not freeze over.

Mimir's (also known as Mim) well of wisdom (Mímisbrunnr) can be found in Jotunheim under the Midgard root of Yggdrasil. From it he drinks and gains knowledge which is then given out to others, including Odin, even after Mimir was decapitated by the Vanir.

Thrym (meaning "uproar")rules Jotunheim, and is the king of the frost giants. The main city is called Utgard and it is ruled by the giant Utgard-Loki (also called Utgardaloki).
Other places and beings in Jotenheim include Hrungnir who lived in a place called Griotunagardar, and Thiassi and his daughter Skadi who lived on the mountain called Thrymheim.
