The Prince of the South bids you are warm welcome to the 18th Sepat of Lower Egypt. Our capital of Per Bast is situated southwest of the city of Djananet, or Tanis upon the eastern side of the Pelusiac branch of the Nile in the eastern Nile Delta. It is naturally traditional for river kingdoms to approve of cats and the people of the sepat of the Prince of the South like cats too. We don't simply venerate cats (everyone in the entire Kingdom does that) no, we actually really like them as well.

The Sepat of the Prince of the South has enjoyed much prosperity over the years, proving to be a popular destination for nobles and commoners alike. It is here in this sepat that the cult center for the goddess Bast has been established. Amenhotep III (c. 1391 - 1353 bce) spent the anniversay of his coronation here leaving dedicative inscriptions to Bast.

We became a royal residence after Shoshenq I, the first ruler of the 22nd dynasty, was made pharaoh in 952 BC and our capital Per Bast reached its height during this dynasty and the 23rd. In this sepat, we produce wines, are famed for our production of red beers in honour of the goddess Sekhmet and much of our production crops are given over to flowers for the manufacturing of perfumes. Perhaps during your visit you'll be able to find yourself the perfect cat companion or cat inspired gift. You have come to a paradise and even if you are not particularly enamored by cats, we hope to convert you during your stay.

"Oh you of the dawn who wake and sleep, Oh you who are in limpness,
dwelling aforetime in Nedit, I have appeared as Pakhet the Great,
whose eyes are keen and whose claws are sharp, the lioness who sees and catches by night."
Coffin Texts, Spell 470, Translation -Faulkner.
