On Hiatus... Posted at 10:00 EST
Hello friends new and old, near and far...
Please allow me to make my most sincere and humble apologies for not responding to avatar requests. The reason being I have been going through some sad times (one being the loss of some family members and the headaches of a rebellious 15yr old). Hopefully once I'm passed this stage I'll be back in full force ready to take requests again. But for the time being, I'll be on hiatus.
Missing you all...take care and blessed be!

My Birthday Yesterday Posted at 12:00 EST
HOW I LOVE THAT MAN OF MINE!!! He's my blessing through and through!!
He went all out this year! My first present was the Graphire software that I've been wanting since last year, and the second present (being the best) was a romantic candlelight dinner for two on the Spirit of Washington dinner train and a tour of the Columbia Winery!! Yes, yes...I was sampling Merlots, Cabernets, and the new varietals Syrah and Cabernet Frac! Needless to say I was tipsy!!! Hubby enjoyed seeing that side of me!! ~laughs~ It was soooo perfect with a full moon night as we walked together hand in hand through the magnificent victorian style buildng of the winery. ~sighs~
Oh pooh! My eyes are pooling with tears again...quick! somebody give me a hankie!! tee hee
OH HOW I LOVE THAT MAN OF MINE!!

Happy Birthday...to me Posted at 12:00 EST
Ok...here I am...again (duh) looking at Fenster (that's my computer's name...and yes I just about named everything in my house, even my Suzuki Sidekick that I call 'Yoshi'...only because my kids named it! LOL) AnyWOO...
Early this morning (right after hubby left) I took it upon myself to search the house! That's right! Search the WHOLE house! I know there's a present somewhere in here...I can sense it!! And for the life of me I know it's probably staring me in the face and I don't even know it! No not Fenster's monitor...something else. Hmmm...that hubby of mine is sneaky and no doubt he bribed the kids not to say anything should I mention the subject of my birthday. I asked the middle child (what was I thinking??! Ask Brandon?? The mini-me of my husband??) if Daddy has anything for me. The expression on my son's face was one of a poker face...totally blank!! Then the lil'crumb-snatcher had the audacity to ask me how much was the information worth? Yep, bribed! So I turn to the youngest, my daughter...who purposely stuffs her mouth with a blueberry muffin. Just as she was about to reach for the glass of milk, I push the glass aside. Smiling at her, I asked, "Courtney, my precious precious babygirl...Mommy will let you have the milk if you will tell me what Daddy bought me,"
Brandon looks over to his sibling and then gives her the rest of his milk, saying, "You tell mom and I'll go into your room rip all your stuff animals to shreds...and I'll start with your favorite,"
Courtney, having drank the milk, shrieks, "NOT MY MONKEY!!!"
Thats it!! THE MONKEY!! So I race out of the kitchen and towards my daughter's room. Not far behind are Brandon and Courtney (who is still shrieking, "NOT MY MONKEY!!")
I snatch the monkey from off her bed and turn about, my hand squeezing the neck of the stuffed monkey. Just as Courtney was about to spill the beans, Brandon comes into the room with some computer cables (mind you this boy is his father's son!!). He holds up the cables and I looked at him and the cables in his hands. My mouth dropped, but then I started to shriek, "NOT FENSTER!!!"
I drop the monkey and Courtney quickly retrieves it. Brandon motions for his sister to leave the room, telling her to get the bookbags and to wait for him at the bus stop. Backing out of the room, Brandon then smiles mischievously (yep, just like his daddy...CAN YOU SAY SATAN?!!)
"Sorry mommy, but I couldn't let you torture my sister...that's my job! And FYI...you're present is not in the house!" And with that, he threw down the computer cable and made a mad dash out the front door!
I pick up the cables and walk to my room to my computer...only to find that my 11 year old was BLUFFING!!!
Hmmm, two can play at that game...I'll go and hide the PS2 and then do a mock print up of the PS2 being sold on e-Bay!! Heh heh heh.
So now in the meantime, I'm gonna sit here and roam about the ancient worlds...

to be continued...

A Website in the Making Posted at 13:00 EST
Can't help but to be in an awesomerific mood today (although I'm sick with a cold ~sniffles~). One of my artist friends, Tynana, is helping me out with the bookcover project; she's rendering a gothic-like background that I'm sure Saje will love!! Truth be known, the chick is a SPECTABULOUS artist! When I checked my email this morning, she wrote asking if I would like to be one of her assistants in hosting a commissioning art website! Already she got one of our artist buddies, George, to join. I was like soooo hella-awestruck-honored!! I wrote her back and said YES!! No doubt another artist opportunity to show off my art!! I would be the appointed RPG Character Creator for those interested in an original 3d art character. Character portraits are my specialty anyway!
Ok, so now I've been blessed again!! WooHoo!!

Hello Artist! Posted at 13:00 EST
This morning, after seeing the kids off to school, I checked my email. When I opened up my artist email account I had a surprise waiting for me...
Oh My God!! An email from Chrissie! She's the aritist editor of an online publishing company called Wings ePress, Inc.
She stated that she loved my work and was willing to work with me on Saje Williams' next book, Of Man and Monster. You see, it was Saje's idea...and that of my husband, James, (who took it upon himself to tell Saje that I was a 3D artist) and just maybe I could assist in making the cover for his next book. I told Saje I was a novice, but that didn't make no never mind to him. James had printed off some of my artwork and took it to work with him to show Saje. Saje was impressed and James gave him my email addy to contact me in wanting a cover made. At first, I'll admit, I was reluctant, but then I agreed to it. Rendering had become a passion of mine and I love rendering...so why not get a little something something for what I love to do? And so here it is...my opportunity to show my 3D art! It tickles me to think that I would walk into a bookstore one day and see my artwork gracing the cover of a sci-fi best seller!!
And to think it all started with me wanting an original character to the gift of a 3D character software...to becoming a cover artist!! I've been blessed!
