I've been rather negligent of myself, both irl and here. I keep meaning to do research, post and have fun, but the demands of daily life have intruded far too much.

For now, I'm letting my membership lapse, because a gal's gotta watch her girlish figure, or was that finances? I do hope this is not long-term. I'll cruise around, and re-subscribe again someday.

HAIL EGYPT and all its glories. I've loved Asenath and Lotus and Hap and AzureEyes and Ankheri and Sankhare, all around scribing sometime during my membership to date. No, I'm not leaving, but I've been busy of late, and I'd better get my life in gear. I'll be here (on my own schedule), count on it!

A Gentle Stillness

There's a gentle stillness that comes from just being. From taking stock of the world outside and the spirit within, perhaps metaphorically approached by an appreciation of the dawn. I stand at my door, and watch the changes of hue, and the fine brushstrokes of tree limbs dangling against the backdrop of sky and distant hills. This is peace.

If I can start off my day by standing in the first brush of the elements, whether rain, sun, hail ~~ saying, "Thank you" ~~ it is a day well-begun.

Return of the Prodigal Daughter

It is an interesting interplay of life. I've been away from here for awhile, catching my breath from everything online and offline that consists of being my life. Reading, contemplating, and being out there, just doing. People need these moments. I'm a private person, so this is probably all I shall say about that. :)

I'm back now, wondering about my next step. I've left the group Seven Wonders, but I plan activity for my other two groups and am considering what my third group shall be. I'd like it to be something to which I can make a contribution, without pressure. No need to decide today.

I stuck my neck on the line and volunteered to be a Nomarch of some neighborhood/nome in Egypt. It will mean research and posting and developing that hood, but I think this will be interesting to do, so why not?

Edit, Dec 17: For now I am holding off on pursuing this, as time is my master and I but its servant.

I've joined my three groups - to reflect a diversity of interest. I'm feeling unpressured, and laid back, I just hope I can contribute at least a smile.

Why? Because now I can post articles, and because now I don't have to choose just one group to belong to.

Why? I think also because this site would appreciate the financial support.

Why? Why not?

Why such a boring first journal article, you an aspiring writer and all? No answer. Silence.
