Beltaine 2006
The Three Roads of Echtrai is possibly the most exciting Triple Challenge Celtia has ever seen. The enthusiasm was at an all-time high, the adventure tales were full of wonder, imaginatination and good homour, and the graphics by Amlaidh Niafer and Caoimhe Manach exquisite. Beyond that, we all had a ball hacking, boasting and bantering our way through the challenges.

I swear by earth, sky and sea,
to protect the twins where'er they be.
I was impressed by the Beltaine offerings this year. I couldn't attend as much as I'd like due to RL commitments, but I did manage to try everything at least once.

Aine's Golden Ribbon

Celtia's Lughnasadh feis was awesome. Holly ~ my Irish half sister ~ and I had the time of our lives in the horse race and won first prize ~ against Nyfain Cumhaill, no less! (For those who don't know Nyfain, she's the Cumhaill horse mistress.) Best of all, I met Queen Aine Herself and she awarded me her golden ribbon. Then I raced back to the finish line on Copar, my pretty little fleetfoot filly with a coat that shines like coppar in the sunlight.

I also met a lovely Ojibwe lass at cousin Kat's raucous kissing booth. I inadvertently got caught in the middle of a cat fight in which one of the, ahem, "ladies" threw a bottle and somehow my head got in the way. *g* Izhi rescued me and healed my head (though it was mostly my pride that got hurt), and we danced all night and fell in love...well I did anyway. To be honest, I'm not sure if it's me the man she fell for, or me the wolf. Time will tell.
I entered the Triple Challenge and completed two of the three tasks, but Izhi distracted me and I missed the third. Ah well. Scathach and me are old buddies. Not only are we fellow Albans, I fostered with her for a year when I was but a lad. My auntie Scathach is an altogether amazing woman. :O)

Iberian poetry contest winner

Who woulda thunk a shapeshifting warrior could win third place in the Iberian poetry contest:
There was an old man from Siberia,
Who followed a gal to Iberia.
When her tribe took him in,
He said with a grin,
"Mi novia tienne el mejor asno en Celtia!"*

~~~~~~~
* "My bride has the best ass in Celtia!"
