So where have I been? Around, about... here's a slight record of what I've been working on in the past year that pertains to AncientWorlds.
In the reconstruction area, I've finished making an early Scandinavian period bronze sword and scabbard from bronze, copper, walnut, and popler wood. The tanged construction of the sword isn't authentic, but you can't have it all...
I'm working on a Gjermundbu style hauberk, flat wrought iron rings of small size. It's coming along slowly due the time it consumes and how (little) time I have.
In the academic area, I'm recieving my degree in anthroplogical social and behavioral studies this month, and will be going to the next unversity for a degree in anthropology/applied archaeology this fall. I'm working part time as an archaeological technician as well as a tutor and TA for anthropology classes.
Upcoming plans include creating "soft kits" for living history for Anglo Saxon period, 14th cen German, and 17th cen Dutch.
Hmm. That's about it. Cheers all, I hope to use this place more. |
