This morning I received a missive from praetor Arminius Tarentus that I have been appointed as quaestor and have to proceed immediately to Narbo. I already sent word ahead to his wife Justina Justa in Narbo and asked her to look into a possible estate for my lodging. Today I will pack and buy some good horses for me and my servants. In 3 days I intend to be in Narbo. My stay in Rome was a short one but I started my climb up the cursus honorum at last !

Purchasing land

I went to the bank for a loan of 1600 denarii in order to purchase 2 units land near Capua. This leaves me with a mere 400 denarii but with the prospect of a yearly revenue of 700 denarii I am not worried. This will be the base of my future success in the cursus honorum.
Getting up to date

Yesterday after leaving house in care of the servants I went out to meet some members of my family. Also I met some senators and they offered to help me. A military career seems to me the best way to get started. I heard Gaul is in unrest and a quaestor seat is still open. I'll try to get enlisted.
